The Volca Keys is built around a three-voice polyphonic analogue engine featuring voltage-controlled oscillators, a resonant filter, LFO, and envelope generator, giving you all the essential tools to create rich, expressive sounds. From lush polyphonic chords and sharp, cutting leads to quirky, experimental textures, it delivers impressive depth and versatility in a compact format.

A dedicated voicing function makes sound design fast and intuitive, allowing you to switch between six oscillator configurations including polyphonic, unison, and ring-modulated modes using a single dial. This streamlined approach removes complexity while encouraging exploration, making the Volca Keys ideal for beginners, live performance, and rapid creative experimentation.

Expressive sequencing and built-in effects

The Volca Keys combines creative sequencing with atmospheric effects to bring your performances to life. Its built-in delay adds warmth and movement, producing pitch-warping echoes reminiscent of vintage tape machines and making it ideal for spacey leads, evolving pads, and rhythmic textures.

The 16-step loop sequencer lets you record melodies and loops in real time using the touch keyboard, with memory for up to eight patterns. Motion sequencing captures knob movements during playback, while Active Step and Flux functions break away from rigid step grids to introduce rhythmic variation and more natural phrasing, making the Volca Keys equally suited to loop-based production and expressive live improvisation.

Studio connectivity and portable freedom

The Volca Keys is ready for any setup, featuring MIDI input and sync jacks for tight integration with other hardware, DAWs, or mobile apps, while its self-tuning system ensures reliable pitch stability every time you power up. Compact and lightweight, it runs on six AA batteries and includes a built-in speaker, allowing you to create and perform anywhere without headphones or additional gear, making it ideal for mobile music making and spontaneous jam sessions.
