Introducing our range of xylophones

At Chamberlain Music we are very proud of our unbeatable range of xylophones for education. From early years, KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4, and higher, each xylophone in our collection has been made with quality materials and constructed to a very high standard, making them an ideal choice for schools, music hubs and music therapy sessions.

Our extensive range of xylophones includes instruments from Halilit, Majestic, Percussion Plus Harmony, Percussion plus Classic Red Box, Percussion Workshop, Stagg, and Studio 49.

Really popular with schools and teachers, our xylophones have an excellent tuning stability and their robustness means they last well in what can sometimes be a challenging school environment.

Key features of our xylophone range include:
Diatonic and chromatic halves – combine them for a full chromatic scale!
A very durable design perfect for an education environment
Wooden bars tuned to standard pitch A=440Hz
The most accurate tuning of any xylophone range
Well built with strong and resonant woods

A xylophone for education

Many of the xylophones in the range have been especially designed for ease of use, especially within a classroom and school environment. Some of them have integrated handles for an easy movement and the instruments themselves are comparatively compact which makes for easy storage in music classrooms.

Our Halilit Early Years xylophone, Stagg xylophone with colour coded keys and Percussion Plus Rainbow xylophone are all perfect for early years development. Colourful note bars, compact designs and beaters included make learning and making sounds fun for ages 1+.

The Percussion Plus Harmony and Studio 49 ranges are versatile for use in schools and music institutions, consisting of soprano, alto, and bass xylophones with diatonic and chromatic halves. Combine, for example, the Studio 49 1000 range soprano diatonic xylophone with the Studio 49 1000 range soprano chromatic half to create a full scale or simply use the just diatonic half for creating simple melodies in group classes.

The soprano, alto and bass diatonic halves in the Percussion Plus Harmony range of xylophones all come with beaters as well as F-sharp and B-flat note bars to alter the xylophones scale for even more versatility making them even better value!

Our most popular models are:
PP7023 Percussion Plus Harmony diatonic Soprano Xylophone
PP7025 Percussion Plus Harmony diatonic Alto Xylophone
PP7027 Percussion Plus Harmony diatonic Bass Xylophone

For school and county orchestras or for percussion students looking to develop their skills, the Majestic Gateway 3.5 octave xylophone is the perfect choice. With paduak bars and the option to add resonators it is a great addition to any education orchestra setup.

About xylophones

With origins in southeast Asia, the xylophone is part of the tuned percussion family including metallophones, glockenspiels, bells, chime bars and hand chimes. A xylophone typically consists of a set of wooden keys arranged in the fashion of the keyboard of the piano. At Chamberlain Music we can provide you with the different ranges from soprano to bass. The resonance chambers which create a full sound quality are much larger in the Bass xylophones so the volume on the bass notes match the natural projection of the soprano range.

You can pair these xylophones with more tuned percussion such as hand chimes, bells or Jumbie Jams and form a full class tuned percussion orchestra all together in the classroom or in a school orchestra.
