A practical way to equip a classroom

Classroom packs make it much easier to get pupils playing together. Rather than relying on a handful of individual instruments, a pack can provide a broad mix of sounds and playing techniques, allowing more pupils to participate at the same time. Several packs in the collection are designed for groups of up to 30 players, making them particularly useful for primary classrooms and music clubs.

The variety is one of the biggest strengths. Students can explore shaking, striking, scraping and rattling sounds, then combine different instruments to create layered rhythms. This gives teachers plenty of scope for activities covering pulse, timing, coordination, dynamics and ensemble playing.

Packs for different teaching needs

Not every classroom needs the same selection of instruments. General-purpose packs provide a broad mixture of handheld percussion for group music-making, while more focused options allow teachers to tailor activities around particular themes or learners.

The Percussion Plus small hands classroom pack, for example, is designed with younger children in mind, combining colourful, tactile instruments with a storage box for easy organisation. For more inclusive music-making, the Percussion Plus PlusNotes Sound Discovery percussion pack combines traditional and sensory percussion, with instruments selected to encourage sound exploration, parallel play and group rhythm activities. It also includes downloadable teaching resources.

Ready for regular classroom use

Storage matters almost as much as the instruments themselves when you're dealing with a classroom full of percussion. Many of the packs are supplied with sturdy storage boxes, helping teachers keep instruments organised and making it easier to clear away and transport equipment between lessons.

The range also includes packs built around particular musical approaches, including global and world percussion. The Percussion Plus world rhythm percussion pack, for instance, brings together instruments from different musical traditions, providing an opportunity to explore sounds and instruments from around the world alongside rhythm work.

More pupils, more possibilities

Whether you're equipping a new music room, replacing well-used classroom instruments or looking for a complete set for group activities, percussion packs offer a straightforward way to expand your resources. With options for different group sizes and teaching requirements, they help make practical music-making accessible to the whole class.
