The Volca Bass delivers massive analogue bass in a compact, portable unit, featuring three fully analogue oscillators that can be used independently or together to create fat unison tones, polyphonic textures, or interwoven sequenced parts, while also serving as a powerful source for lead and melodic lines. Its filter, derived from Korg’s legacy of analogue synthesis, offers a wide tonal palette that can be bright and cutting or warm and round, and really comes alive when resonance is pushed into gritty, acid-flavoured distortion.

Intuitive synthesis and dynamic step sequencing

The Volca Bass pairs a simple, intuitive layout with powerful sequencing capabilities, making it both an educational tool and a creative instrument. With a single VCF, VCA, LFO, and envelope generator, it’s ideal for learning the fundamentals of subtractive synthesis, while the built-in step sequencer—drawn from the Electribe series—lets you input notes via the touch keyboard, use motion sequencing, and create evolving patterns with features like Active Step and Slide. Eight pattern memory slots and independent sequencing for each oscillator give you full flexibility for live tweaking and dynamic loop creation.

The Volca Bass is designed for both studio and stage, offering sync in/out and MIDI In for seamless integration with other Volcas, DAWs, or MIDI controllers, making it easy to jam, sequence, or trigger from external gear.
