An acoustic guitar amplifier is designed to produce a relatively flat frequency response, compared to electric and bass guitar amplifiers. They are similar to keyboard amplifiers in this respect. To produce the clean sound required, the amplifier has to be powerful enough to provide additional 'headroom' and to avoid distortion.
