TooT

The TooT is a step up from the recorder and is a great instrument to bridge the gap before going on to learn the flute. The Nuvo TooT is supplied with a regular lip and plate and the NUVO Firstnote lip plate which transforms your traditional embouchure with a recorder-style fipple. This helps beginners who struggle with embouchure to focus on their enthusiasm and learn some fingerings before coming back to the lip technique. Both the Dood and Toot are very popular with teachers who want a fun musical activity for kids whilst still on a budget. This is made even easier with convenient quantity discounts for schools and institutions.

DooD

The NUVO DooD is a brand-new concept for single reed music education. Simply put it is a recorder played using a clarinet mouthpieces and is a natural next step for a young musician. Similar to a chalumeau, the DooD is a great way to introduce single-reed skills at an early age.

The DooD has recorder-like fingering with a simple yet durable key system that helps small fingers to cover the holes. The instrument is in the key of C and is fully chromatic over one octave with extra notes in the second register.

Clarineo

The Nuvo Clarineo is a clarinet based on the Lyons C clarinet, a popular student instrument in the 1990’s. The Clarineo is also in the key of C and perfect for young learners. It is much lighter and smaller than a traditional Bb clarinet which means that finger stretches are shorter, tone holes are smaller and the mechanism is easier to play.

Nuvo cleverly designed this instrument to have the same fingering as the Bb clarinet which makes transitioning to a traditional full-size instrument quick and easy. With a rich and mellow tone and a 3.5 octave range you are even able to play Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto – although they are best suited to fun beginner pieces.

jSax

The Nuvo jSax, like the rest of the Nuvo range is pitched in C. This makes integration into classroom music making very easy and means that the jSax is also compatible with all WindStars music. The instrument has a fully chromatic range from middle C (C4) to G in the next octave up (G5).The jSax is made from durable plastic with a silicone bell, making it incredibly durable.

The jSax has a traditional fingering system and serves to enable newcomers to develop embouchure and tuning skills which will be directly transferable to a full-size saxophone. The tone is surprisingly mellow, and therefore this instrument offers a lot of fun for both newcomers and established amateur saxophonists.

The jSax is fully chromatic, however that can be a little overwhelming for first time players. If you are a beginner, or just have small fingers, there are a set of plugs (training wheels) that completely seal the tone holes and will assist in the first stages of learning the jSax.You are also able to purchase the Straighten your jSax kit - which allows you to upgrade your jSax into a straight saxophone!

jFlute

The Nuvo jFlute comes fitted with the ‘Donut’ head joint. The innovative ‘Donut’ head joint shortens the players need to reach for the keys whilst keeping the embouchure hole in line with the keys. If you are ready for the challenge of a full sized flute but can’t quite reach the keys, this is the perfect beginner flute!

Everything on the jFlute is designed to give the beginner an easier playing experience, benefitting both player and teachers alike. From the 'Firstnote' lip-plate, to the durable silicone pads it the ideal instrument for inspiring young players in the classroom and at home. You are also able to purchase an Upgrade kit which includes a straight head joint along with a C foot joint - this transforms the jFlute into a full size and fully chromatic student flute.

Lightweight, easy to maintain and clean, these are perfect for classroom music lessons in primary schools and young secondary school age.

Student flute

The Nuvo Student flute has the same key system and is similar in size to a standard silver flute however, due to lightweight construction it weighs just 310g. This is almost half the weight of a standard silver flute and allows it to be held and played by younger musicians with ease, or by anyone who finds it hard to lift a standard flute. Teachers and students love the Nuvo student flute!

Schools and education institutions can also take advantage of the quantity discounts to conveniently purchase great quality student flutes at an amazing price.

jHorn

The jHorn is Nuvo’s first brass training instrument, designed to let beginners find their way into brass playing with several adaptable options to help guide them to different parts of the brass world further down the line. The jHorn provides the opportunity to learn important “brass” skills from as young as 4 years old. With a full, resonant tone and standard brass fingerings, it is also a lot of fun to play for the brass enthusiast who wants a lightweight, low cost, durable instrument to play on the go.

The jHorn is tuned in Bb and plays the same register as the tenor trombone, euphonium and baritone horn. It comes with our unique multi-cup mouthpiece to enable experimentation with low, middle or high brass embouchures. You may also try standard trumpet, tenor horn and narrow bore trombone mouthpieces.

Supplied in Bb, the jHorn also comes with a set of C tubes which bring the instrument up to concert pitch. With the Bb tubes fitted, the jHorn occupies the same register as baritone horn, euphonium or tenor trombone. Swap these out for the included C tubes however, and the jHorn joins the ranks of jSax, jFlute and Clarineo to form the basis of the 2nd phase of the Nuvo WindStars classroom curriculum.

jHorn makes it possible to start developing important brass skills from 4 years old and upwards, making it highly compatible with KS1, KS2 and Early Access education programmes.

Windstars

Windstar aim to offer a simple, effective, and affordable way for kids to experience playing music together. The idea of a Windstar instrument is to give children a feel for what it would be like to play the real thing. The simpler version allows for skills to develop introducing a class or individual to what playing a wind instrument feels like for them.

Progressing through the program, specially put together by music professionals, children can play a musical instrument and develop a life-long love for music at an early age.
