The NUVO jSax has been designed to provide an accessible and engaging introduction to woodwind playing for young learners and educational settings. Combining lightweight, durable construction with authentic saxophone-style technique, the range supports the development of essential musical skills in a format tailored specifically to beginners. NUVO instruments offer practical, low-maintenance solutions that encourage confident learning and ensemble participation from the very first lesson.

The NUVO jSax collection is an innovative range of lightweight, durable instruments designed specifically to support young beginners as they build confidence and foundational playing skills, the jSax combines accessible design with authentic saxophone-style learning, making it an ideal choice for classrooms, instrumental programmes, and home practice.

Crafted from robust polymer materials with silicone components, NUVO jSax instruments are fully waterproof while easy to clean and exceptionally resilient which perfectly suit the demands of school environments and younger players. Their lightweight construction and adjustable thumb rest support comfortable handling for smaller hands, while optional “training wheel” key plugs assist beginners in covering tone holes as they learn. The instruments are pitched in C for straightforward classroom integration and ensemble playing, with a fully chromatic range that encourages musical progression and creativity.

Nuvo jSax Outfit

The jSax has a traditional fingering system and serves to enable newcomers to develop embouchure and tuning skills which will be directly transferable to a full-size saxophone. The tone is surprisingly mellow, and therefore this instrument offers a lot of fun for both newcomers and established amateur saxophonists.

Following in the tradition established with other Nuvo instruments, the jSax is pitched in C (concert pitch). This makes integration into classroom music making very easy and means that the jSax is also compatible with all WindStars music. The instrument has a fully chromatic range from middle C (C4) to G in the next octave up (G5).

Nuvo WindStars jSax Class Set

The NUVO WindStars jSax Class Set has been created specifically for whole-class instrumental teaching and group music education programmes. Including ten jSax instruments alongside dedicated tutor books for both teachers and students, the WindStars 2 Student Book and the WindStars 2 Teachers Book.

The set provides a structured and accessible pathway into woodwind learning. Designed to support primary-aged beginners and non-specialist teaching environments, the programme encourages ensemble playing, music literacy, and collaborative learning from the outset.
