Allen & Heath SQ5+ digital mixer

The Allen & Heath SQ5+ is the most compact model in the SQ range, featuring a 17-fader digital mixing surface designed for live sound, installed audio and recording setups. Combining a streamlined, rack-mountable format with powerful onboard processing, it offers a practical solution for engineers who need professional mixing tools in smaller spaces or portable production environments. With 48 input channels, motorised faders, integrated effects engines and flexible recording capabilities, the SQ5+ is equally suited to touring systems, venues, schools and production environments. Its intuitive touchscreen workflow and extensive expansion options make it a versatile mixer for both everyday operation and more demanding live productions.

Designed for fast, flexible mixing

At the centre of the SQ5+ is a 9" touchscreen interface with customisable channel layouts, colour coding and assignable controls that help keep workflows clear during busy sessions. Seventeen motorised faders provide hands-on control, while dedicated SoftKeys allow commonly used functions to be accessed quickly.

Comprehensive onboard processing and effects

Every channel includes processing tools such as EQ, compression, gating and filtering, giving engineers detailed control over individual sources and mixes. The SQ5+ also includes a wide selection of built-in effects, including reverbs, delays, modulation and vocal processing, with dedicated FX engines allowing multiple effects to run simultaneously.

Recording, playback and system integration

The integrated USB interface supports multitrack recording, playback and virtual soundcheck functionality, making the SQ5+ suitable for both live production and studio workflows. Direct recording to USB storage is also supported, allowing performances and rehearsals to be captured without requiring an external computer.

Built for touring and installation

Its compact footprint and optional 19" rack mounting make the SQ5+ well suited to touring systems, venues, schools, houses of worship and installed audio environments. Expansion options including Dante, Waves and MADI support allow the mixer to integrate easily into larger audio systems as requirements grow.
