Entry-level models delivering authentic playability and sound inspired by a grand piano
The new ARIUS digital pianos offer an authentic and realistic playing experience inspired by a grand piano, as well as a new speaker system. The newly designed keyboard and improved sensors provide a stable touch and excellent responsiveness, supporting everything from powerful performances to delicate expression. The new speaker system delivers clear, expansive sound with a natural resonance across the entire tonal range, creating an enjoyable sound environment for both performers and listeners alike. In addition, all models are equipped with Bluetooth® functionality. This enables connection with smart devices, further enhancing the enjoyment of playing and practicing.

1. Newly developed keyboard faithfully recreates the touch of a grand piano for an authentic playing experience
The YDP-166 and YDP-S56 are equipped with the newly developed GrandTouch-E™ keyboard, which delivers the realistic touch and responsiveness of a grand piano. It maintains stable responsiveness across a wide range of playing styles, from powerful performances and delicate expression to rapid repetition, allowing players to stay focused with a comfortable playing feel.
The YDP-146 and YDP-S36 are equipped with the Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) keyboard, which provides a natural and balanced playing experience across the entire tonal range, from rich, resonant lows to bright, sparkling highs. Additionally, improvements to the sensor design enable more accurate response to the player’s intent, even during rapid repetition and complex passages.
2. Clear, rich sound created by the newly developed speaker system
Drawing on decades of research into the sound generation mechanisms of grand pianos, as well as expertise gained from developing audio products and sound systems, Yamaha has achieved a clear, rich sound within a compact digital piano. The adoption of a diffuser grill disperses sound widely in all directions, allowing high-frequency tones to carry over long distances while the sound ― balanced across the full tonal range ― spreads naturally throughout the space, creating a comfortable sound environment for both player and listener.
3. Equipped with an array of features designed to expand the joy of playing
With Bluetooth functionality equipped in all models, players can stream audio from their smart devices through the piano’s speakers, and connect wirelessly to the Yamaha Smart Pianist app. The Smart Pianist app also includes a new Guide feature. This feature pauses the accompaniment until the correct note is played, allowing users to practice reliably at their own pace. A new Medal Challenge feature, which automatically evaluates performances and awards medals, has been added as well. By making achievement visible, the feature helps players stay motivated during their daily practice routines.
