Introducing the Kemble Conservatoire upright piano c.2006
Manufactured at Kemble's Milton Keynes factory during its successful partnership with Yamaha, the Kemble Conservatoire combines traditional British craftsmanship with Yamaha engineering to produce an instrument that is both reliable and highly musical.
Standing 124 cm (49 inches) tall in a handsome, traditional style cabinet, the Conservatoire was Kemble's flagship upright model. It features a solid European spruce soundboard, a vacuum-cast iron frame, a Yamaha-designed action, with longer keys than most uprights to provide greater control and a more responsive touch.
The Conservatoire’s action is responsive and well-balanced, capable of supporting advanced technique, while producing a warm, rich tone with excellent projection and sustain. Compared with many Yamaha uprights of the same period, it is often described as having a slightly more rounded, European-style sound without sacrificing clarity or precision.
Manufactured in 2006, this privately owned example has been exceptionally well cared for and remains in excellent overall condition. It has recently been serviced, regulated, and polished by our workshop technicians, and is presented in first-class playing order. A superb choice for the discerning teacher, performer, or advancing pianist, it represents one of the finest British-built upright pianos of its generation.
