MMX violins

The MMX violin range covers several levels of playing, from Student models designed for those starting their orchestral journey through to Performer, Soloist and Signature instruments. The instruments are made from selected tonewoods and finished with oil-based varnish, with higher-level models featuring more carefully selected materials and increasingly detailed hand craftsmanship.

Student outfits are supplied ready to play with a bow and case, providing a practical starting point for developing violinists. The higher-level MMX violins offer more detailed construction and materials for players looking to progress beyond their first instrument.

MMX violas

The MMX viola range follows the same progression, providing instruments for students and more experienced players. Different sizes are available to accommodate developing players, while the higher-level models feature carefully selected spruce, maple and ebony components and hand-applied oil varnishes.

MMX cellos

MMX cellos are available across the Student, Performer, Soloist and Signature ranges, with sizes from 1/4 through to full-size 4/4 instruments. Student models provide an accessible starting point, while Performer and Signature instruments use more highly selected tonewoods and detailed workshop craftsmanship. Each cello is set up in the UK before being supplied, including adjustment of the bridge, soundpost, nut, fingerboard and pegs.

MMX double basses

The MMX range also includes double basses, extending the collection across the main orchestral string family. As with the other MMX instruments, the range provides options for developing players alongside more advanced instruments.

From student instruments to advanced models

MMX instruments are available at several levels, making it possible to choose an instrument according to the player's experience and stage of development. The Student, Performer, Soloist and Signature ranges offer different levels of materials, construction and finish, while selected instruments are supplied with cases and bows where appropriate.

Chamberlain Music also carries out final preparation on MMX instruments in the UK, helping ensure that instruments are ready to play when supplied. Explore the individual violin, viola, cello and double bass ranges to compare the available models and sizes.
