The YC73 uses Yamaha’s Balanced Hammer Standard action, offering a responsive playing experience between graded acoustic piano and organ-style keyboards. This weighted keybed makes the YC73 a capable choice for piano and electric piano parts, while still allowing agile control across organ, synth and layered sounds.
Yamaha’s sound engine blends AWM2 sampling and FM synthesis with rich acoustic and electric piano voices, including Yamaha’s CFX and S700 grand samples and a variety of expressive keyboard sounds. Extensive synth, pad and ensemble voices expand the palette for contemporary performance and sound design. The YC73 supports up to 160 live set presets and comprehensive split and layer functions for flexible routing on stage.
