Introducing the Yamaha FG830 4/4 dreadnought acoustic guitar in gloss

The Yamaha FG series is renowned for solid construction and terrific sound. The FG830 is no exception, providing great value for determined beginners and intermediates looking to develop their acoustic guitar skills. Available in a natural glossy finish or a striking Autumn Burst, the FG380 is sure to make an impression for all the right reasons. With time and technology moving on, Yamaha have managed to stay true to the original vision of the FG Acoustic Guitar series by continuing to produce affordable yet high spec instruments.

Scalloped bracing

Yamaha’s engineers have utilised analysis and simulation to arrive at the best bracing design without depending on tradition or guesswork. This analysis led to the development of the new scalloped bracing pattern, a new and ideal acoustic structure that maintains the durability of the top board while bringing out the most sound the Yamaha FG has to offer.

Expertly crafted

Crafted with a solid spruce top, this instrument produces a bold and resonant tone with sustained brilliance. The back and sides, constructed with rosewood not only adds great durability and stability to the guitar, but also contributed the excellent, bright tone of the guitar. The fretboard, skilfully crafted from rosewood, adds a touch of warmth to the sound, smoothing over any harsh frequencies. The result is a guitar that delivers a rich, clear tone, making it a perfect complement to any musical style.

The Yamaha FG series

When it was introduced in 1966, the Yamaha FG proved that a great acoustic guitar didn’t need to cost a fortune. With a focus on great playability, musical tone and outstanding build quality, the original FG180 quickly became a classic with countless careers and hit records starting life on an FG. 50 years since the introduction of the FG acoustics, the new range features the best-ever FG tone and the same great playability and class-leading quality that’s made it the choice of millions of guitarists.
