Introducing the Yamaha P22 upright piano c.2000
The Yamaha P22 is a 116cm upright, corresponding in height to the Yamaha P116 models produced for the UK and Indonesian markets. This example was manufactured at Yamaha’s Thomaston, Georgia, USA facility circa 2000.
The P22 has a distinctly American console design, with a more substantial aesthetic than Yamaha’s contemporary European-market uprights. Designed principally for schools and community use, it features large rubberised castors for ease of movement, together with independently lockable fallboard and top board.
Privately owned from new, this example remains in excellent condition, with its walnut veneer, keyboard and action all particularly well preserved. It has been serviced and polished by our technical team in Haslemere and is ready for use.
The responsive action and clear, lively tone are characteristic of Yamaha uprights from this period. A well-built and practical instrument, the P22 is equally suited to domestic or educational use.
