Introducing the Kawai K-18e upright piano c.2003
Standing at 112cm tall, the Kawai K18 is built on the same sized frame as today's new Kawai K-15, also featuring Kawai's proprietary 'Ultra-Responsive Action'. Where it differs however is in the cabinetry - the K-15 is only available in a modern-style cabinet and in black, white or mahogany gloss, while this piano has traditional style cabinetry with castors, making it easy to move, and is finished in a light cherry satin wood veneer. It was also manufactured at Kawai's main Ryuyo piano manufacturing facility in Hamamatsu, Japan.
The piano is in very good condition throughout, it's been serviced by our workshop and plays responsively and evenly, with a medium touch and a tone which is not too bright. The casework has some minor imperfections, as to be expected of a wood-finish piano of its age, but all in all the veneer has matured nicely and it's a handsome furniture piece, as well as a capable acoustic piano.
This instrument would be well suited to the advancing student pianist or practice space, it has a full length 88-note keyboard along with a celeste pedal to enable quiet practice and would comfortably see a pianist through their grades.
