Introducing the SAF grey acoustic foam bass traps
Designed specifically to manage low-frequency sound, SoundFix Acoustic Foam Bass Traps provide an effective solution for improving acoustic balance in a wide range of environments. Unlike standard acoustic panels, which primarily address mid and high frequencies, bass traps are engineered to absorb the higher energy carried by low-frequency sound waves, helping to reduce distortion and uneven sound distribution.
Manufactured in the UK using precision CNC cutting technology, these bass traps are shaped to fit neatly into room corner areas where low-frequency sound naturally accumulates. By targeting these problem zones, they help minimise “boomy” or muddy audio, resulting in clearer and more accurate sound reproduction. Each piece of foam is constructed from high-quality open-cell acoustic foam, the traps allow sound energy to enter the material where it is dissipated, reducing reflections and reverberation. With a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.85, they are capable of absorbing up to 85% of incident sound energy, contributing to a more controlled acoustic environment. The NRC is a recognised standard used to measure how effectively materials absorb sound rather than reflect it. The units are manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001 quality management systems and meets UL94 fire safety standards, exceeding UK fire safety requirements. This ensures consistent performance, reliability, and suitability for use in professional and educational environments.
These bass traps are lightweight and easy to install, making them suitable for both permanent and temporary setups. They can be mounted in room corners using adhesive, allowing for flexible placement depending on the acoustic needs of the space.
Effective low-frequency absorption
Low-frequency sound waves carry more energy and are more difficult to control than higher frequencies. Bass traps are specifically designed to address this challenge by using thicker foam and strategic placement. When positioned in corners, they help absorb excess bass energy, reducing uneven sound and improving overall acoustic balance.
Corner-focused acoustic treatment
Sound waves—particularly bass frequencies tend to accumulate in corners due to room boundary interactions. Placing bass traps in these locations directly targets these build-ups, helping to prevent distortion and ensuring a more consistent listening experience throughout the space. This principle is widely recognised in acoustic treatment design.
High-quality acoustic materials
The open-cell foam structure allows sound waves to pass into the material, where internal friction converts sound energy into heat, reducing reflections. This is a fundamental mechanism behind effective acoustic absorption and is commonly used in professional acoustic treatments.
Simple and flexible integration
These bass traps are designed for straightforward installation without the need for specialist tools. Their lightweight construction and corner-fit design make them easy to integrate into both new and existing spaces, offering an immediate improvement in room acoustics.
