The Rovner Dark tenor and baritone saxophone ligature is Rovner's original and best-known ligature, offering a warm, centred sound with excellent reed stability. Handmade in the USA, the Dark ligature is constructed from Rovner's proprietary rubberised fabric, which conforms securely to the mouthpiece without stretching over time. Available in sizes to fit both tenor and baritone saxophone mouthpieces, it includes a protective mouthpiece cap and is suitable for a wide range of musical styles, from concert band and classical performance to jazz ensembles.
Unlike traditional metal ligatures, the Rovner Dark uses a flexible rubberised fabric that applies even pressure across the reed while allowing it to vibrate naturally. This design promotes a stable response and helps produce a rich, resonant tone with consistent intonation.
