Roland TD-07DMK2 electronic drum kit

The Roland TD-07DMK2 is a compact five-piece electronic drum kit designed for beginners, dedicated students and returning players. Its smaller pad configuration makes efficient use of available space, while upgraded dual-ply mesh snare and tom pads provide a responsive playing surface for developing technique.

The kit is built around Roland’s TD-07 sound module, offering 50 drum kit sound configurations, 143 instruments, detailed editing tools and six Coach modes for practice. Bluetooth provides wireless audio streaming and MIDI connectivity, while USB Audio and MIDI allow the kit to connect to computer music software. An additional cymbal arm is included, allowing you to expand the setup with a second crash cymbal as your playing develops.

Please note: Drum throne and kick pedal are NOT included.

Compact kit with upgraded pads

The TD-07DMK2 uses upgraded snare and tom pads inherited from Roland’s V-Drums 3 Series. The dual-ply mesh heads provide natural rebound and adjustable tension, offering a familiar response for practising technique and developing skills. The configuration includes a 10" PD-10H snare and three 8" PD-8H tom pads.

The compact layout makes the TD-07DMK2 a practical option where floor space is limited, while retaining the core components needed to practise a wide range of drum parts. The freestanding KD-10 kick pad provides a stable playing surface and supports single and double beaters. The kick pedal is sold separately.

Room to expand

The TD-07DMK2 includes a CY-5 hi-hat, a CY-5 crash and a CY-5 ride, with a dedicated hi-hat control pedal that detects half-open strokes. An additional cymbal arm is supplied, allowing you to add a second crash cymbal later. This gives the kit a straightforward upgrade path as players develop and require a more expansive setup.

The four-post metal rack stand features sturdy clamps to help keep the pads securely positioned. Roland has also streamlined the setup process, helping players get started with less assembly. Compatible additional cymbals and other accessories can be purchased separately to adapt the kit to changing playing requirements.

TD-07 module and practice features

The TD-07 sound module provides 50 drum kit sound configurations, comprising 25 preset kits and 25 user kits, alongside 143 instruments. Players can edit their sounds using individual pad EQ, an overhead microphone simulator, room ambience and 30 types of multi-effects. These tools make it possible to adjust the character of the drum sounds and create customised kits.

Six Coach modes provide interactive exercises for developing timing and accuracy, including Time Check, Quiet Count, Auto Up/Down, Change-Up and BLAST BEAST. The built-in metronome offers adjustable tempo, rhythm type and click sounds to support regular practice. Melodics also offers interactive lessons developed for V-Drums players.

Bluetooth supports wireless audio streaming from smartphones, tablets and other compatible devices, making it easy to play along with music. Bluetooth MIDI allows communication with compatible music apps, while USB Audio and MIDI support recording and music production with computer software. The module also includes a headphone output for quieter practice and a mix input for connecting an external audio source.
