Introducing the Percussion Play large babel drum

The babel drum provides a beautiful, unique hand drumming experience. With an eight-note layout in G-Major, this drum can create beautiful melodies with a remarkably long sustain.

The sensory, tactile nature of this drum and the secure mounting onto a frame makes this drums perfect for permanent outdoor installation in sensory gardens and playgrounds. Babel drums should be played with the hands, preferably by striking with the fingers. However, in cases where players may have weakened grip/ limited dexterity, they can also be played with mallets.

Great for all ages and abilities

No previous drumming experience is required to play a babel drum and both children and adults will enjoy improvising with the mesmerising sound produced by the drum. The mellow tones are never brassy or too loud, making it the perfect instrument for musical exploration in the fresh air.

Surface mounted vs Ground install

There are two ways to install this Percussion Play product:

Surface mounted

The leg is attached to a base plate, which is then fixed into the ground using anchors. This provides a brilliant level of stability, whilst making it possible to move the product around with relative ease.

Ground install

The leg is directly embedded into the ground, providing excellent, long-lasting stability. However, once placed, the instrument will be very hard to move - perfect for permanent installations.
