The Zip-Kit Essential makes learning and playing the drums accessible to everyone. Its compact, fully acoustic design provides everything needed to develop rhythm, coordination and technique, whether you're learning at school, practising at home or playing with friends.
When the lesson or practice session is over, the Zip-Kit packs quickly and neatly into its own bass drum housing, with room for additional accessories. Its compact design makes storage simple, even in busy classrooms or homes where space is limited.
With comfortable, padded backpack-style straps included, the Zip-Kit is easy to transport between home, school, lessons and rehearsals. Its lightweight, self-contained design makes moving and storing drum kits straightforward for teachers, students and players on the move.
The Essential Kit comes complete with everything you need to get started:

The Zip-Kit is possibly the easiest drum kit ever to configure for left-handed playing! Simply swivel the kick and hi-hat pedal assemblies through 180 degrees and reposition the drums and cymbals to suit the player. There's no complicated hardware to dismantle, making it quick and straightforward to switch between right- and left-handed setups.
This flexibility is particularly useful in schools and teaching environments, where the same kit might be used by several students throughout the day. Rather than needing separate equipment for left-handed players, the Zip-Kit can be quickly adapted to suit whoever is sitting behind the drums.
Featuring an 8" height-adjustable snare, a string-operated 10" hi-hat, 90-degree kick pedal and adjustable stool, the Essential Kit is ideal for drummers working in small spaces or moving frequently between lessons, rehearsal spaces or gigs.
The included foam mute pad keeps the snare at a comfortable volume for practice without disturbing others, making it particularly useful for group teaching, classroom activities and home practice.
The Zip-Kit grows with the player. Fully height-adjustable drums and cymbals are suitable for children from eight years old right through to adults. Four telescoping posts allow you to add extra toms and cymbals when you're ready to expand your kit, giving students and developing players the opportunity to explore more sounds and techniques as their confidence grows.
With its adaptable design and straightforward setup, the Zip-Kit is equally suitable for individual tuition, group lessons and more experienced players looking for a compact alternative.
The NUVO Zip-Kit is designed to withstand the demands of regular classroom use. Its robust construction, simplified hardware and integrated design reduce the risk of damage while making setup and storage straightforward for teachers and students alike.
With fewer loose components and a compact, self-contained structure, the Zip-Kit supports frequent use, quick transitions and reliable performance, making it a practical and long-lasting solution for busy music departments.

Zip-Kit is the brainchild of Dave Wish, Founder of Music Will, a nonprofit organisation that has provided free music lessons and instruments to nearly 2,000,000 students across the USA.
Dave spent years developing the perfect classroom drum set in his basement workshop. After meeting with the folks at NUVO, the Zip-Kit became a reality!
“I invented the Zip-Kit so that entire classrooms of kids could learn to play the drums at the same time,” says Dave. “You just can’t do this with regular drum sets – they’re way too loud, too big and too expensive.” Dave Wish, Founder of Music Will

Using the drum kit for practice nights. It's fabulous packing away into its own convenient carry case. Set up time is minimal and the quality is great. Packing away is the same. Our percussionist has engaged more than ever. Another advantage is the kit doesn't drown out the other instruments in the band as full drum kit tends to do in the small hall space. A fantastic purchase.
“I really like it! My favourite part of the kit is the hi-hat – it sounds very good and considering the way it is connected it has great control. With a group of kids in a class, if one doesn’t quite understand they can glance across to the tutor to see what they are doing, unlike large drum kits where you are often hidden.”
