Ka Hia Manu (Little Birds) pulls together chants and texts from various Polynesian and Micronesian islands. A metallic, brassy edge to the sound sets this Stephen Hatfield original apart from much of the standard choral repertoire. Think of the spontaneity of kids singing on a bus.
