The Laney Lionheart Foundry SUPER 60 is a 60W analogue guitar combo with two channels and a range of built-in effects. The Clean and Drive channels cover everything from clear cleans to warmer overdrive, with plenty of scope to adjust the sound to suit your playing. Its low-power mode and range of connections also make it a practical choice for home practice, recording and live performance.
The all-analogue design takes inspiration from the response and tonal character of Laney's Lionheart valve amplifiers. The Clean channel has a Bright switch for adding definition, while the Drive channel offers Normal, Bright and Dark settings to help tailor the overdriven sound. A passive three-band EQ and overall Tone control provide further adjustment.
The built-in Boost gives you extra gain when you need more drive for lead playing. The low-power mode reduces the output to less than 1W, making it easier to practise at lower volumes.
Spring reverb, tremolo and Spiral Chorus are built in, giving you a range of effects without needing separate pedals. Use the reverb to add depth, introduce rhythmic movement with tremolo or add a wider texture with chorus.
Optional footswitches let you switch channels, activate Boost and control the reverb and modulation effects while playing.
The built-in LA·IR technology provides speaker emulation based on Laney's GS112 and GS412 cabinets. The balanced XLR DI output lets you connect directly to a PA or recording setup without needing to microphone the speaker, which is useful for both live performance and studio recording.
An effects loop provides connections for external effects, while the stereo AUX input and headphone output are useful for playing along with backing tracks or practising quietly. The FX Send can also be used as a line-level output. With its 12-inch HH H1260 speaker and 60W output, the SUPER 60 offers a versatile setup in a combo weighing 11.8kg.
If you don't need the additional effects and LA·IR speaker emulation, the Laney Lionheart Foundry LF60-112 is a simpler alternative. It shares the 60W analogue format and 12-inch speaker, with a lighter cabinet and a more straightforward set of features.
