The K&M Popkiller pop shield is designed to reduce plosive sounds during speech and vocal recording. Positioned between the performer and the microphone, the double-layer nylon screen disperses bursts of air before they reach the microphone capsule, helping to produce cleaner recordings without affecting microphone placement.
Manufactured with a steel gooseneck and a durable plastic frame, the Popkiller attaches to microphone stands with tube diameters of up to 30mm. The flexible gooseneck allows the screen to be positioned accurately and remain securely in place during use.
The Popkiller uses a double nylon screen to improve the filtering of plosive sounds compared with a single-layer design. This helps reduce unwanted pops caused by consonants such as "p" and "b" during vocal recording.
A 330mm steel gooseneck allows the screen to be positioned in front of the microphone and adjusted as required. The clamp is fitted with a non-marring locking screw to help prevent damage to the microphone stand during installation.
The Popkiller is manufactured from steel with a robust plastic frame designed for regular use. Its straightforward clamp fitting enables it to be installed or removed quickly without the need for additional tools.
