Introducing the Didier Nicolas Mirecourt viola
This French antique viola was made by Didier Nicolas in 1880. Hand-crafted from solid tone woods, the viola has a bright, mature tone and resonant sound. It also features accurately cut sound holes and delicately inlaid purfling.
The D. Nicolas workshop was one of the most successful stringed instrument makers in Mirecourt, the French capital of violin making, and Didier himself was renowned for his skills and expertise.

We pride ourselves in only stocking the highest quality at Chamberlain Music. Although second-hand instruments may have some small cosmetic signs of use, this is of no detriment to the quality construction and the dependable, balanced tone of the viola.
Assured quality
As with all second-hand instruments at Chamberlain Music, this Didier viola has received a thorough check-over and a setup prior to dispatch so you receive a quality instrument, every time.
What's in the box?
This viola comes as an outfit which includes a velvet padded protective hard case. Additionally, the viola has been fitted with easily playable Thomastik Dominant viola strings which have a highly flexible, multi-strand synthetic core, giving the strings their distinct tonal warmth and feel of gut.
