This great show tune from the 1937 Rodgers and Hart musical 'Babes in Arms' has become a popular jazz standard. 'My Funny Valentine' has appeared on over 1300 albums and has been performed by over 600 artists including Frank Sinatra, Shirley Bassey and Miles Davis.
The song is usually performed in C minor, although B minor is also fairly common. The simple and classic structure makes it easy to adapt to other genres and for jazz musicians to improvise over the established chords.
