Kawai F-302 digital piano pedal unit for ES520/ES920

The Kawai F-302 is a three-pedal board designed to give the ES520 and ES920 portable digital pianos a more complete piano-style playing experience. Designed to attach to the Kawai HM-5 designer stand, it provides damper, soft and sostenuto pedals in a fixed pedal-board format.

With half-pedalling support and individually weighted pedals, the F-302 provides greater control over the piano's sustain and other pedal functions. It is particularly useful for players who want the feel and functionality of a traditional three-pedal piano while retaining the compact design of an ES520 or ES920 setup.

Three-pedal piano functionality

The F-302 provides three individual pedals: damper, soft and sostenuto. The damper pedal supports half-pedalling, allowing the player to vary the amount of sustain rather than simply switching the effect on or off. On the ES920, the soft pedal also supports half-pedalling.

Having all three pedals available makes the F-302 particularly useful for more advanced repertoire and for players developing pedal technique. The functions correspond to those found on a traditional acoustic piano, while the connected digital piano handles the electronic response.

Grand Feel pedal weighting

Kawai's Grand Feel Pedal System is designed to reproduce the individual weighting of the damper, soft and sostenuto pedals found on its SK-EX Concert grand piano. This gives each pedal a distinct response under the foot rather than treating all three as identical switches.

The fixed pedal-board design also keeps the pedals in a consistent position, which can be helpful for regular practice and makes the setup feel more like a conventional piano.

Designed for the HM-5 stand

The F-302 attaches directly to the Kawai HM-5 designer stand, the pedal board is not intended to be used as a free-standing pedal unit.
