The Sennheiser E604 is a dynamic cardioid instrument microphone that is considered a classic, thanks to the practical clip-on holder, which lets you quickly mount and position your mic wherever you choose. The frequency response and cardioid pick-up pattern are optimised for drum sets and are compatible with toms, snares, and other percussion. The mic also features a light and compact design that doesn't interfere as you play, making it perfect for studio or performing musicians.
Based on the legendary MD 421 microphone, this mic produces exceptional results and is particularly good at emphasised upper mids and high sound pressure levels, and it offers balanced, clear, low distortion signals similar to that of a high-end studio condenser microphone. It's also got a lightweight voice coil, which provides extended high frequency and rapid transient response. With this mic, snares receive a warm and dynamic presence, while brass and woodwind instruments sound immersive and spacious.
The integral stand mount screws directly onto mic stands, and the included clip attaches the mic to the rim of your drum, giving you a number of ways to capture the sound you want. The body is made from tough reinforced glass fibre, meaning it can handle knocks and shocks. This low distortion microphone also suppresses impact noise, so your sound quality is unaffected.
