Introducing the Suzuki Airwave 10-hole diatonic harmonica in C

Fun, friendly, and designed for easy learning – meet the Suzuki Airwave, the perfect starter harmonica for kids and beginners of all ages. With its bold colours, modern design, and player-friendly features, the Airwave makes learning music exciting from the very first note.

Designed for young learners

Unlike traditional harmonicas, the Airwave features a wide-body design with extra spacing between the holes, making it easier to find and isolate notes – perfect for learning the basics. The smooth exterior is completely free of screws or metal parts, ensuring it's safe for young hands and mouths.

Durable and ready for anything

Made from tough, virtually unbreakable resin, the Airwave is built to withstand daily practice and the occasional tumble to the floor. Its ergonomic shape makes it comfortable to hold for players of all ages, and it’s especially well-suited to smaller hands.

Available in three fun colours

Whether you choose bright red, vibrant blue, or cheerful orange, the Airwave is as visually appealing as it is playable. The colourful finish makes it exciting to pick up and play – an important feature for encouraging regular practice in younger learners.

Not just a toy – it’s a real musical instrument

Don’t be fooled by its playful design – the Airwave is equipped with Suzuki’s professional-quality reeds, an airtight comb, and solid internal construction. It offers a genuinely musical playing experience that beginners can grow with.

Includes a beginner’s guide

Each Airwave comes with an introductory booklet that covers essential techniques, simple melodies, chords, and even includes play-along songs – helping new players to get started and build confidence right away.

How are Suzuki harmonicas labelled?

When choosing a harmonica, it’s important to know how the key is labelled—and Suzuki makes it simple. Unlike some brands that label their instruments by the second position (often used for blues), Suzuki harmonicas are labelled according to the first position, also known as straight harp. This means the key printed on the harmonica is the key you get when playing melodies in first position. The handy table below shows you the corresponding keys for playing in each position. For example, if you want to play in the key of C in second position (C mixolydian), you need an F harmonica.

  • First position - standard major scale, ideal for folk melodies and simple pop songs
  • Second position - mixolydian mode, perfect for the blues
  • Third position - dorian mode, lending a darker, minor soundscape
