How our reviews work

  • A few days after your order ships we'll email you a link to leave a review. When your feedback is published it will carry a Customer verified badge, so others know it came from a real order with us.
  • We only ever edit a review to remove profanity, spam, or personal details - otherwise it's published exactly as written, good or bad. We won’t ever remove or edit critical ones.
  • You don't need to have bought a product from us to review it - if you know the product, we want you to let other shoppers know what you honestly think, using the form on the product page. These are moderated in the same way, but won't carry our Customer verified badge.

Plug and play with the Audient EVO 4 Audio interface

The Audient EVO 4 is a compact 2-in/2-out USB audio interface with two EVO microphone preamps, Smartgain technology, a JFET instrument input and 24-bit/96kHz recording. Its simple controls and flexible monitoring make it a practical choice for recording music, vocals, instruments, podcasts and other audio directly to a computer.

Two EVO microphone preamps

The EVO 4 features two Audient EVO microphone preamps, each providing 58dB of gain and digitally controlled adjustment for precise level setting. The inputs support 48V phantom power for condenser microphones, while the preamps offer an EIN of less than -128dBu and a 100dB signal-to-noise ratio.

Smartgain makes setting recording levels quicker by automatically analysing the incoming signal and adjusting the gain. The system uses peak analysis to set the level and can operate on both microphone inputs simultaneously, helping to avoid clipping when recording.

JFET instrument input and monitoring

A dedicated JFET D.I. input provides a 1MegΩ input impedance and 58dB gain range for connecting guitars and other instruments directly to the EVO 4. The input is designed to provide an appropriate front end for instrument recording and software-based amp simulation.

For monitoring, the EVO 4 provides balanced speaker outputs and a dedicated headphone output. Monitor Mix and Monitor Pan controls allow you to adjust the balance and positioning of input and playback signals, while the interface's low-latency monitoring makes it practical for recording while monitoring through headphones or speakers.

24-bit/96kHz audio conversion

The EVO 4 uses high-performance analogue-to-digital and digital-to-analogue conversion with 113dB A-weighted dynamic range for both the ADC and DAC. It supports recording and playback at up to 24-bit/96kHz, providing the resolution required for detailed recording and music production.

The interface connects to a computer using high-speed USB 2.0 and is USB bus powered, so no separate mains power supply is required. Its USB Type-C connection and compact 140mm-wide enclosure also make it practical for use on a desktop or as part of a portable recording setup.

Audio loopback

Audio loopback allows audio from a computer to be recorded alongside connected microphones or instruments. This provides additional options for recording computer audio, gaming audio and video calls, making the EVO 4 useful for podcasting, streaming, online content creation and other applications where multiple audio sources need to be combined. The dedicated Audio Loop-back Mixer software provides control over the loopback routing and allows audio sources to be combined and routed between software applications. It is compatible with macOS and Windows.

Free recording software and plug-ins

Registering the EVO 4 through Audient's ARC platform gives access to a collection of free software and plug-ins to help get a recording setup started. The ARC software collection also provides access to additional recording software and plugins from Audient's software partners. Available software can be accessed by registering the product through Audient's Resource Centre.
