The cast aluminium shell provides strong projection and durability, while the synthetic head ensures consistent tone and stable tuning. Capable of producing deep bass tones and crisp, articulate highs, the doumbek is well suited to solo and ensemble playing.

Cast aluminium shell

Lathed cast aluminium construction provides strength, durability, and strong projection. The rigid shell enhances clarity across both bass and high tones, making it suitable for ensemble and solo use.

Mosaic royale finish

Hand-applied mother-of-pearl mosaic decoration gives each instrument a distinctive, traditional appearance. The detailed finish reflects the instrument’s Egyptian craftsmanship while maintaining a professional look.

Synthetic Head

Fitted with a durable synthetic head for consistent tone and tuning stability. The head is less affected by temperature and humidity, conditions that would normally affect classroom or studio use.

Screw tuning system

External tuning screws allow precise tension adjustment. Easy to maintain and reliable for regular playing, with stable pitch retention over time.

Wide tonal range

The doumbek is handcrafted to produce deep yet resonant bass (“doum”) sound and bright, cutting high tones (“tek”), such sounds support a wide range of playing techniques and musical styles.
