Arturia KeyLab Essential 49 mk3 MIDI keyboard controller
The Arturia KeyLab Essential 49 mk3 is a 49-key MIDI controller designed for making music with software instruments and digital audio workstations (DAWs). Its velocity-sensitive keyboard responds to how firmly you play, while the onboard controls give you direct access to instrument parameters, mixing functions and recording controls without relying entirely on a mouse and keyboard.
With USB-C connectivity, a 5-pin MIDI output and compatibility with popular music production software, the KeyLab Essential 49 mk3 can be used in a home studio, production setup or live performance rig.
Hands-on control for your music software
Nine rotary encoders and nine faders provide hands-on control over software instruments, mixer levels and other assignable parameters. Dedicated transport and command buttons let you manage recording and playback from the keyboard, while the 2.5-inch LCD display provides feedback as you work.
Custom integration scripts are available for Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Cubase, FL Studio and Bitwig Studio, giving you direct control over key functions in supported software.
Tools for playing and composing
The eight pads can be used to play drum sounds, trigger samples and control other MIDI functions. Chord mode lets you play a stored chord from a single key, while Scale mode keeps your playing within a selected scale. The arpeggiator generates note patterns from the notes you play, and the Hold function lets notes or patterns continue after you release the keys.
Pitch bend and modulation wheels provide further control over compatible instruments, allowing you to add movement and expression to your playing.
Included music software
The KeyLab Essential 49 mk3 comes with a selection of music software to help you get started. This includes Arturia Analog Lab V with over 2,000 sounds, Ableton Live Lite for recording and arranging music, UVI Model D and Native Instruments' The Gentleman. A two-month Loopcloud subscription and a Melodics subscription with 40 lessons are also included.
Connect to a computer using the supplied USB-A to USB-C cable for power and MIDI communication, or use the 5-pin MIDI output to control compatible external instruments. The pedal input can be assigned to support a sustain pedal, expression pedal or footswitch.
