The Zoom WSS-6 is a foam windscreen designed for use with compatible shotgun microphones, like our SGH-6 shotgun microphone. It reduces unwanted wind noise during recording while maintaining clear audio capture, making it a useful accessory for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Manufactured from acoustic foam, the WSS-6 fits securely over the microphone capsule to provide protection from light wind, breath noise and airborne dust. Its lightweight construction allows it to remain in place during use without affecting the handling of the microphone.
The foam construction helps minimise noise caused by light wind and air movement, improving speech intelligibility and reducing unwanted interference in recordings. It also helps lessen the impact of breath noise when recording at close range.
In addition to reducing wind noise, the windscreen provides a barrier against dust and other airborne particles that can settle on the microphone capsule during everyday use and transport.
The WSS-6 is designed for use with compatible Zoom shotgun microphones, providing a secure fit without affecting normal operation. It can be fitted or removed quickly when recording conditions change.
