Introducing a five-octave, height-adjustable rosewood marimba designed in conjunction with world-renowned marimba legend Keiko Abe. The YM-6100, a culmination of more than 40 years of instrument development with Ms. Abe, is the industry-leading flagship for all Yamaha marimbas. Ideal for solo and ensemble performances, it features a new bar suspension cord that is 13 times stronger than the previous marimba cord, and easily accessible resonator caps that allow for precise fine-tuning. The height-adjustable YM-6100 Series Marimba is constructed out of hand-selected rosewood and contains a full, five-octave scale for a complete range of sound. The bars are carefully tuned with the unique Yamaha tuning method for highly accurate intonation. Ideal for solo and ensemble performances, the YM-6100 Series Marimba also features a new bar suspension cord that is 13 times stronger than the current marimba cord. It also has easily accessible resonator caps, which allow for precise fine tuning. The marimba's beautifully redesigned frame features pneumatic height adjustment. A drop Cover is also included with the instrument. Keiko Abe Artist Mallets are also available for purchase separately. All large tuned percussion instruments such as xylophones, marimbas, vibes etc are delivered boxed and require assemble which is not included in the price.
