Pop shield
The Soundlab microphone pop shield is designed to reduce plosive sounds during speech and vocal recording. Positioned between the performer and the microphone, it helps minimise the impact of fast-moving air caused by sounds such as "p" and "b", resulting in cleaner recordings and improved vocal clarity.
The pop shield features a flexible gooseneck and an adjustable clamp, allowing it to be attached to most microphone stands and positioned accurately in front of the microphone. Its mesh screen provides effective protection without obstructing the performer's view or restricting microphone placement.
Reduces plosive sounds
The mesh screen disperses bursts of air before they reach the microphone capsule, helping to reduce unwanted popping noises during recording. This makes the pop shield suitable for spoken word, singing and voiceover applications.
Flexible positioning
A flexible gooseneck allows the screen to be positioned as required, while the clamp attaches securely to compatible microphone stands. The pop shield can be adjusted quickly to suit different microphones and recording positions.
Protects the microphone
In addition to reducing plosive sounds, the pop shield helps prevent moisture from reaching the microphone capsule during use. This can help keep the microphone clean during regular recording sessions.
