The Plasticover range of woodwind instrument reeds are popular among students and beginners and are often recommended by teachers.
They are produced from solid cane, just like a standard reed, but are then coated in a special plastic formulation. This gives the reed a consistency that is impossible to achieve simply using the natural product. It also makes them much harder wearing. Most beginners will use reeds at a somewhat alarming rate as they get used to the complexities of playing a woodwind instrument. These Plasticover reeds are much stronger and far harder to chip or break. Because the underlying material is cane they are also produced in the same number of different 'strengths' so improving players can also make use of them.
Brilliant for use in outdoor ensembles they are often chosen by players in marching bands as they are moisture resistance and are not effected by climate change.
They are available for most woodwind instruments and are supplied in boxes of 5 reeds
