This metal guiro is constructed from sturdy stainless steel and is perfect for use in classrooms and percussion groups. The guiro can be played by scraping the serrated edges of the instrument in long or short strokes with the metal scraper, or by shaking the guiro to produce a crisp, rattling sound.

The guiro is of Latin-American origin and is often heard in Samba and Bossa Nova.
