Introducing the Zoom PodTrak P8

The Zoom PodTrak P8 is easy to use and perfect for even the most ambitious podcasts. With all the functions you need to record, edit, and mix, the PodTrak P8 is your complete podcast studio.

Give your podcast a professional quality by triggering sound effects, intro music, jingles, pre-recorded interviews and more, with nine multi-coloured sound pads. Choose from 12 pre-loaded sounds or load your own and create up to 36 sound clips. Limited unwanted noise and use a variety of controls to perfect your podcasting voice, further enhancing everything once your done with the built in editing tools.

Record outside of the studio with the P8, taking advantage of the 1.5 hours of recording you get when using four AA alkaline batteries, or connect your USB power supply for extended use.

Touchscreen controls

The colour touchscreen interface makes monitoring, adjusting and onboard editing seamless, with everything you need just a touch away. The touchscreen display can also be set to any of these six languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian or Japanese.

Perfect the sound

Use the mic preamp slider to dial in the level of gain in each mic, adjusting until the signal is peaking in the good range. Use the limiter to prevent any distortion from loud volume, and the low-cut feature to reduce any low frequency noise. Select noise reduction to decrease background sound by turning down the mix levels of tracks not in use.

Achieve the perfect podcasting voice

Using the tone adjustment feature you can make your voice darker or brighter, and the Compressor / DeEsser enables your voice to have more presence for that perfect podcasting sound.

Easy to navigate

The P8’s colour-coded inputs, outputs and controls make on-the-fly adjustments a breeze, keeping you focused on the discussion. The On Air buttons mean you can disable any channel and still here the tracks through your headphones, but they won’t be recorded or go through the speakers. There are also outputs for every occasion with six independent headphone outputs, each with volume control.

Crystal-clear recording

The PodTrak P8 features six of Zooms best-sounding mic inputs, providing pristine audio for you and your guests. With up to 70dB of gain, the P8 can handle even the most demanding microphones. There is a dedicated channel for recording phone calls. Channel six can be switched to USB mode to record your guests from your computer, with both options including a mix-minus feature to prevent echo and feedback for the caller.

Editing your podcasts with the P8

With the P8’s onboard editing, you can easily trim, split, and fade audio clips to produce a finished episode. You can also transfer track files to your computer for a final mix.
