Introducing the MMX Carbon composite cello bow with ebony frog

MMX95 bows combine the historical traditions of bow making with quality, durable materials and expert craftmanship. The result is a versatile bow which will suit professional musicians and performers alike.

These bows are consistently produced using carbon composite wood, with nickel silver mounted ebony frogs, mother of pearl slides and eyes, and real wood veneer. They’re also fitted with white unbleached horsehair and embossed with the MMX brand.

Using the latest in lightweight materials, they’re light enough to reduce fatigue during long rehearsals or performances, without compromising on tone or projection.

Also available for violin, viola and double bass.

The MMX range

MMX has been working with master luthier Guofang Wang and his family workshop for nearly a decade, producing a broad selection of orchestral stringed instruments. This series is perfectly at home in professional orchestral or solo on-stage work.

Ethically produced

With the availability and quality of Brazilwood decreasing due to deforestation of the Brazilian rainforest, the use of manmade composite materials in the MMX bow range helps to remove the burden on natural resources.

Customer Reviews of This Product

Its a good even tempered bow with plenty of strength and flexibility. Remarkable for the price - which on offer was under £100. I've the same (?) bow with a wood veneer finish for my viola and that's very good also but more expensive. Tbh, they are similar - if you can compare a viola and a cello bow. Hair good quality with plenty of bite.
