Introducing the Boss Katana-50 MkII EX Guitar Amplifier

The Katana-50 MkII EX has excellent performance versatility and a portable design, with GA-FC and GA-FC EX support which allows you to select Tone Setting memories, turn effects on/ off and more with the amplifier's foot controllers.

If you want to send a mix-ready tone to a house PA, there's also a line output which you can use, and with the Stereo Expand feature you can even link a second Katana MkII amp to this one.

The core platform of this Katana MkII mode is turbocharged with great sounds, effects, and features. You can colour your tones with a wide variety of customisable BOSS effects, and cover any style with five amp characters and variations.

This amplifier is perfect for all sorts of venues, whether you're looking to amplify the sound of your school orchestra, fill a concert venue or boost the sound of your professional ensemble.

Five amp characters, ten overall tones

Katana MkII's five primary amp characters offer everything from organic vintage tones to modern high-gain sounds, plus a dedicated voice optimised for acoustic-electric guitar. Each of these characters include a multitude of variations to choose from, providing you with a broad palette of tone options to craft your personal sound.

Five effects at once

All Katana MkII models feature five simultaneous effects categories, which puts the tone-shaping power of a massive pedalboard inside your amp! Independent Booster, Mod, FX, Delay, and Reverb sections come loaded from the factory with three variations in each, providing 15 ready-to-play effects to for you to choose from. If you then connect to the BOSS Tone Studio, you can dive even deeper, with customisable sections with over 60 different effect types, and you can change the order with four different chains as well as a multitude of other things!

The best sound whenever you plug in

The Katana MkII delivers the authentic output distortion characteristics of genuine tube amplifiers due to BOSS's Tube Logic approach, meaning your sound becomes richer and more responsive the more you turn up the volume.

Amplify your external gear

The Katana-50 MkII EX is fantastic as a standalone amp, however it also works brilliantly as a powered cabient for your favourite preamp, modeler, or multi-effects unit. By connecting to the rear-panel Power Amp in jack, you can bypass the onboard preamp and effects, allowing you to tap straight into the Tube Logic power section, complete with grab-and-go Power Control. With BOSS Tone Studio, the input can also be easily optimised for your particular ear with a high-pass filter and adjustable gain.

One-touch recall of custom setups

With the Katana MkII, you can store your favourite amp character and effect setups in Tone Setting memories for instant recall. Once you've dialed in a sound with the controls, you simply save it to the desired memory with a quick button hold. Four Tone Settings are available for fast selection from the panel or optional FS-series footswitches. You also have more foot control with the GA-FC and GA-FC EX, allowing you access to eight Tone Setting memories, individual effects and more!

Ready-to-mix direct tones

This amplifier features line, USB, and phones/recording outputs with mic'd cabinet emulation, allowing you to send mix-ready amp tones to a PA system, computer DAW, or headphones. The direct sound can be shaped with three different Air Feel settings, which are accessible from BOSS Tone Studio. Two-channel USB operation is supported, allowing you to track in true stereo with many of Katana's modulation, EQ, delay, and reverb effects.

Compact gig commander

The optional GA-FC and GA-FC EX foot controllers are the best partners for the Katana-50 MkII EX. They take up very little space, need no external power and connect with a single cable. With six footswitches, you can directly recall Tone Settings and independently turn the five effects sections on/off. They also support external footswitches and expression pedals, with customisation via BOSS Tone Studio. With the GA-FC you have standard control, and with the GA-FC EX you can control two amps together, have additional foot control, connect another unit and more!

Go deeper with BOSS Tone Studio

With BOSS Tone Studio, you can customise the amp for your style and touch. You can change up the factory-loaded effects, adjust the effect order, shape the overall tone with global EQs, tweak the cab resonance and a variety of other things. Plus, with Livesets, you can save favourite setups and instantly reconfigure your Katana MkII for different playing situations.
