Introducing the German viola of the Caussin school c.1900
Made by De-Lorenzi in 1862, this viola was hand-crafted from quality tonewoods. It features an attractive spalted maple back with a light curl to the centre joint of the instrument. Finished in a light brown varnish, the table is in two pieces of spruce with a medium grain broadening towards the flanks.
Its warm and direct tone blends well in almost any situation, from chamber music to orchestral playing and solo work. It would also be an ideal upgrade instrument for those looking to progress through the higher grades.
Our second-hand instruments
We pride ourselves in only stocking the highest quality at Chamberlain Music. Although second-hand instruments may have some small cosmetic signs of use, this is of no detriment to the quality construction and the dependable, balanced tone of the viola.
Assured quality
As with all second-hand instruments at Chamberlain Music, this German viola has received a thorough check-over and a setup prior to dispatch so you receive a quality instrument, every time.
What's in the box?
This viola comes as an outfit with a bow, rosin, and protective case. Additionally, the viola has been fitted with easily playable Thomastik Dominant viola strings which have a highly flexible, multi-strand synthetic core, giving the strings their distinct tonal warmth and feel of gut.
