Introducing the Petrof 100 Sonatina upright piano c.1987
The Petrof 100 Sonatina is a compact upright piano that combines elegant, contemporary cabinetry with the warm, characterful tone for which Petrof is renowned. Largely handcrafted in the Czech Republic, Petrof pianos offer a mellow, distinctly European sound that contrasts beautifully with the brighter tonal character of comparable Yamaha or Kawai models.
As the smallest model in the Petrof range, the 100 Sonatina is an excellent choice for those with limited space who appreciate the richness and warmth of a European piano. Manufactured in 1987, this particular instrument has had just one private owner and remains in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition.
The mahogany satin veneer has been freshly polished and is complemented by a new brass-coloured Petrof logo, giving the piano a smart, well-presented appearance. Internally, the action has been thoroughly serviced to ensure responsive touch and reliable performance.
Equipped with three pedals, including a celeste (practice) pedal for quieter playing, it is ideally suited to beginners through to intermediate pianists. A full-length music desk provides ample space for large orchestral scores as well as individual sheets, while positioning the music at the same height as on a grand piano. This encourages a more comfortable playing posture, reduces the need to hunch over the keyboard, and also makes the instrument particularly well suited to conducting a school choir or orchestra from the piano when required.
