Introducing the Petrof 100 Sonatina upright piano c.1987
A compact instrument with modern style cabinetry, Petrof pianos are largely handmade in the Czech Republic and offer a much more mellow and distinctively European tonality to an equivalent Yamaha or Kawai model.
The 100 Sonatina is the smallest model, ideal for those with limited space and prefer the European piano sound. This example was manufactured in c.1987 and has had just one private owner, consequently it is in excellent cosmetic and technical condition.
Its mahogany veneered satin finish is fresh polished with a new brass coloured Petrof logo applied, while the action has been thoroughly serviced. As a three pedal model including a celeste pedal for quiet practice, it is an ideal choice for the beginner to intermediate level home pianist. It also benefits from a full-length music rest, comfortably accommodating large orchestral scores or single sheets, and also positions the music at the same height as on a grand piano. This means that one isn’t hunched over while looking at the music, which is of course good for posture, and also makes conducting over the top of the piano nice and easy.
