Introducing the Yamaha FG-TA 4/4 dreadnought TransAcoustic guitar in gloss
The FG-TA TransAcoustic guitar is an incredible innovation from Yamaha, perfect for performing musicians due to built-in electronics which allow for amazing sounding reverb/chorus with no need for external amplification or effects. Bright and fully responsive tones stream out of the scalloped X braced spruce top, making the TransAcoustic a joy to play, while the dreadnought body shape provides ample comfort. The FG-TA is fantastic for singer-songwriters or stage performers, as the built-in speaker can transform a playing space to give your tunes an edge you might usually only find in studio.
The Yamaha TransAcoustic guitar recreates an incredible experience without needing any external amplification or effects, just the guitar itself. With built-in reverb and chorus at your fingertips, it's the most inspiring, engaging acoustic guitar you'll ever play.
Scalloped bracing
Yamaha’s engineers have utilised analysis and simulation to arrive at the best bracing design without depending on tradition or guesswork. This analysis led to the development of the new scalloped bracing pattern, a new and ideal acoustic structure that maintains the durability of the top board while bringing out the most sound the Yamaha FG has to offer.
Expertly crafted
Crafted with a solid spruce top, this guitar delivers a robust, punchy tone with an impressive sustain that resonates through every note. The mahogany back and sides contribute to a pronounced midrange, enhancing the characteristic warm and woody sound, while also providing a strong foundation for an outstanding tonal output. The fretboard, meticulously crafted from rosewood, adds a touch of warmth to the sound profile, smoothing over harsher frequencies and contributing to a rich, clear tone that seamlessly complements any style of play.
How does a TransAcoustic guitar work?
An actuator installed on the inner surface of the guitar back vibrates in response to the vibrations of the strings. The vibrations of the actuator are then conveyed to the body of the guitar, and to the air in and around the guitar body, generating authentic reverb and chorus sounds from inside the body.
The Yamaha FG series
When it was introduced in 1966, the Yamaha FG proved that a great acoustic guitar didn’t need to cost a fortune. With a focus on great playability, musical tone and outstanding build quality, the original FG180 quickly became a classic with countless careers and hit records starting life on an FG. 50 years since the introduction of the FG acoustics, the new range features the best-ever FG tone and the same great playability and class-leading quality that’s made it the choice of millions of guitarists.
