What we think of the Yamaha SE122 traditional cabinet upright piano

The handcrafted Yamaha SE122 upright piano is hailed as a unique collaboration between East and West, an exquisite quality upright piano designed to take on rival instruments from the likes of Bechstein and Bluthner. The SE122 combines Japanese engineering with European components and is hand assembled from the finest materials including a Renner action, hand wound strings and a solid Bavarian spruce soundboard, all specially selected for this model. Uniquely, the SE122 has the same key length as the larger SE132 model giving this piano a class leading level of response, similar to a grand piano while remaining compact and a great domestic size. While similar in size to the industry standard U1Q, the SE122 is crafted by the same technicians who produce the flagship CFX concert grand, and this combined with the sheer level of refinement makes it a very special piano indeed.
