Introducing the Yamaha YVS-140 tenor Venova

The Venova is a completely new type of wind instrument designed to enable anyone to learn to play with ease. Despite the simple fingering, it sounds just like a saxophone. The YVS-140 has a bright tone similar to an tenor saxophone, with a compact and lightweight body to improve portability, helping to make this a truly casual wind instrument.

Precise design for perfect playability

A meandering pipe is used to shrink the distance between tone holes for a simplified structure. This also helps to simplify the fingering systems, making them similar to recorders and very easy to play even for those who are new to wind instruments. Despite this simplification, the YVS-140 still boasts a two octave range.

Impressive tone paired with easy maintenance

With a "branched pipe" added to the cylindrical bore, the tone of a conical bore instrument (e.g. saxophone) is achieved in an impressively compact size.

The body, made with ABS resin, is durable and washable with water. With a durable resin reed and synthetic pads, cleaning is made even easier, adding to the convenience of the YVS-140.

In addition to the owner’s manual, the “Let’s Play Venova!” guidebook includes tips on posture, sound production, and controlling pitch and tone. It also contains sample songs.
