The recorder has an 'arched windway' which allows for any condensation to drain easily and therefore not interrupt the sound. As a result the tone is crystal clear and the sound projects well. It also adds some resistance, which makes it easier to control your breath.

This is a fine instrument for a novice Recorder player exploring Baroque repertoire (actually G.F.Handel sonatas). Bought it due to the reasonable price and after watching some on-line reviews of Alto Recorders. Yamaha quality is widely recognised. Like the cloth bag for durability rather than a leatherette material (of other makers).
