Introducing the Yamaha YHR-672 French horn

The Yamaha YHR-672 full double horn combines traditional craftsmanship with modern enhancements, offering a rich, warm tone and exceptional playability. Designed with an extra-large bell, this horn delivers a deep, powerful sound ideal for both solo performance and ensemble settings.

This expressive instrument is perfect for advancing students, educators, and more experienced musicians. The YHR-672 projects with strength and clarity, and this versatility makes it a wonderful choice for a wide range of musical styles.

Custom-inspired leadpipe design

To produce rich overtones and a timbre with impressive depth, the taper shape is based on the legendary YHR-862 custom horn, which is widely considered to be a masterpiece in design. Ideal playing resistance offers players expressive control and tonal flexibility.

Main and f tuning slides

The YHR-672 features a somewhat square crook on the tuning slides, which increases resistance for a more centred tone. Repositioned main brace rods contribute to a well-balanced playing experience.

Extra-large LL bell

The LL size bell, a defining feature of this horn, projects a rich and resonant tone that reaches every corner of a concert hall. The unsoldered bell rim adds a level of openness and freedom to the horn's response, supporting effortless and dynamic control.

Short-stroke 4th lever mechanism

Engineered for speed and comfort, the redesigned short-stroke 4th valve lever allows fast, fluid transitions between the Bb and F sides. This lets musicians concentrate on their musical performance.
