With three kit configurations available (see specifications for details), there is a kit to suit any need. Whether its home practice or for lightweight gigging, the reliability in sound and construction of the DTX6 series will give you the edge.
Real sounds that drive the drummer
The acoustic drum sounds built into the DTX-PRO are all real sounds recorded in world renowned recording studios. As well as recording the direct drum sounds though, the unique natural ambience of the studios where they were recorded was also sampled. Performances by leading Yamaha drums artists were recorded and mixed by a team of recording engineer to give the final audio files. The project sound director, an electronic musical instrument development professional, specified exacting recording techniques to capture the full detailed sound of each drum and cymbal, from the initial attack, until the very end of the natural sound.
Intuitive functionality that stirs creativity
The KIT MODIFIERs condense the sound creation know-how that Yamaha has accumulated over decades into three knobs: AMBIENCE, COMPRESSION, and EFFECT. A wide range of tonal possibilities are available thanks to Yamaha engineers — from the natural sound of acoustic drums, through to live performance sounds, and heavily effected sounds.
A playing experience in a class of its own
Yamaha's original TCS head surface uses a foamed silicone material that contains thousands of air bubbles. With the perfect level of firmness and rebound that allows players to hit hard, TCS offers a realistic, natural feel that inspires you to want to keep playing, and because the surface never loosens, every strike feels perfect. In addition, a unique floating structure, without any direct contact with the head and body parts, prevents vibration from being transmitted elsewhere, while also improving pad sensitivity. The air bubbles in the TCS head also serve as a cushion to soften the stick sound.
Reliable Yamaha hardware
Yamaha's HS650A hi-hat stand is included with the DTX6K2-X and DTX6K3-X. All of the DTX6 Series also uses Yamaha's traditional ball clamps for snare pads, making fine adjustment of settings easy. Yamaha is also one of the finest acoustic drum makers in the world, and its hardware is trusted by many professional drummers, for its strength, ease of use, and stability.
Training functions to support drummers
The best practice functions featured in previous DTX models are also found in the DTX-PRO. As well as the sophisticated programmable metronome, the module offers a comprehensive recorder function, 10 training functions that are ideal for players of all standards, as well as 37 training songs that allow you to learn various genres. Beginners and professionals alike will find the DTX6 training functions a useful aid for daily practice.
