Chorda by Artiphon is a versatile, all-in-one musical instrument that combines the features of a guitar, piano, drums, and synthesiser – making it easy for anyone to create a wide variety of music. Bring your ideas to life with touch-sensitive pads, a strummable smart bridge and more gestural controls for expressive playing.

The control via gestures and tilting opens up exciting possibilities for modulation: Vibrato like a stringed instrument is produced by the same movement of the finger, whereas a radial movement of the finger triggers a different modulation. You can even shake the entire instrument like a shaker in drum mode.

The four modes of the Chorda make the instrument more flexible: In drum mode, each pad of the Chorda is assigned to a drum sound. Switching to bass mode transforms the instrument into a monophonic bass. The chord mode is suitable for playing whole chords and the lead mode invites you to play virtuosically on a polyphonic instrument.

Why the Artiphon Chorda?

At first glance, the instrument resembles a guitar fretboard, but there is much more to discover: The Chorda is a controller and sound generator at the same time, with which you can create exciting modulations and sounds using the various modes (drum, bass, chord, lead) and associated gesture and tilt control. In keeping with the times, various options such as effects or even entire songs can also be saved and controlled via an app.

Built in looper for song creation

Chorda’s built-in looper lets you record multiple parts to build up loops in seconds. Start with a quick drum beat, add a groovy bass, and solo on top with a lead melody for as long as you’d like. Each loop can be up to five minutes long, so you can even make full songs to share with the world.

Operating modes

Chorda has four main playing modes: Drum, Bass, Chord, and Lead. Each has unique capabilities, with hundreds of sounds to choose from. Within each mode, you’ll play with various techniques, some familiar and others completely new. Hold the Chorda like a guitar and play one-finger chords, or lay it flat to tap like piano keys or drums.
