Introducing Dorico Elements 6 EE education licence

Dorico Elements 6 is the perfect balance of power and accessibility, offering ambitious musicians a professional-grade music notation solution at an affordable price. Whether you're composing for a chamber group, scoring a short film, or arranging for school ensemble, Elements gives you all the tools you need to create beautiful, expressive sheet music quickly and easily. Its intuitive, uncluttered interface helps you focus on the music, not the software, and its smart automation handles the heavy lifting, so you can get on with being creative.

With support for ensembles of any size, built-in orchestral sounds, and a host of customisation options, Dorico Elements 6 bridges the gap between beginner-friendly entry-level tools and the deep power of a full engraving suite. If you're ready to take your composing or arranging to the next level, this is the version of Dorico for you.

Unlimited ensemble writing

Unlike Dorico SE, which is limited to 8 players, Dorico Elements 6 lets you write for ensembles of any size, giving you the freedom to work on orchestral, choral, or large band scores without restriction. Whether you’re crafting an SATB vocal piece, scoring strings and winds, or just layering rich textures in your music, you’ll never run out of space.

Built-in orchestral and percussion sounds

Dorico Elements 6 comes with Iconica Sketch, a high-quality orchestral sound library that provides expressive playback of your music straight out of the box. You’ll also find Groove Agent SE, Steinberg’s versatile drum plug-in, ideal for adding realistic percussion or rhythmic drive to your compositions. Combined, these tools bring your scores to life with clarity and nuance.

Powerful notation and editing tools

Dorico Elements includes all the intelligent note input, editing, and layout tools from Dorico SE, plus the freedom to make graphical adjustments in Engrave mode. You can fine-tune spacing, alignments, and visual elements for a professional finish. And thanks to Dorico’s unique popovers and flexible note entry methods – mouse, keyboard, or MIDI – entering music is fast, accurate, and intuitive.

Customisable chord symbols and fonts

With Dorico Elements 6, you can fully customise chord symbols, tailoring them to suit jazz, pop, or educational styles. You can also change the music and text fonts, allowing you to personalise the appearance of your scores to suit your creative or institutional preferences. It’s never been easier to make your music look exactly how you want it.

Streamlined workflow and playback enhancements

New in Dorico 6, the Proofreading panel helps spot issues before they cause problems in rehearsal, while Cycle Playback allows you to loop passages and hear edits as you make them. With these features, you can fine-tune your music in real time, and produce cleaner parts and scores with fewer revisions.

Designed to grow with you

Dorico Elements is part of a growing family, compatible with macOS and Windows, and built with scalability in mind. As your needs grow, you can easily upgrade to Dorico Pro and carry over your projects, settings and layouts. It’s a future-proof investment in your music-making journey, supported by Steinberg’s long-term development and updates.

Which is the right Dorico product for me?

Dorico Elements vs Dorico Pro:

Dorico Pro is the premium product, with professional level tools, sounds and customisation. Dorico Elements comes with lower levels of functionality. For example, it comes with fewer sounds included and a smaller variety of engraving options. However, Elements is still a great piece of software for students and home users, a solid option for those on a lower budget.
